Trumpf and Trumpsters

As we watch, aghast, the apparent dismantlement of American government and credibility, it is important to bear in mind what President Pumpkin has done for the American people.

It took someone this profoundly stupid and clinically self-obsessed to demonstrate how American government actually works. 

One should NOT be forgiven for not realising that US foreign policy based on covert destabilisation, bullying, and blackmail hasn’t been going on for decades and that the only difference is that now it’s all being done overtly.  Or for not realising that centralising wealth into the hands of fewer and fewer white males hasn’t been going on for even longer. 

The only difference is that these policies and powers are now being manipulated and wielded by a disturbed idiot so supremely confident in his infallibility that he cannot see how the exposure he is forever, compulsively, and slavishly pursuing is also his undoing.  Even the dumbest of dumbocracies can now begin more clearly to see just how phucked up their supposedly representative system really is. 

Many Trumpsters felt instinctively, and quite rightly, that their recent governments had not been serving them; that they were being screwed more and more mercilessly by insatiable vested interests.  Interests which cannot resist accumulating ever astronomically increasing amounts of wealth at the expense of the very lowest paid by the simple expedient of buying politicians of either or both political parties. 

Trumpf appealed to these people simply because his rhetoric reflected their frustrations and fears.  The fact that this rhetoric was unhinged from any connection with morality or reality was not evident to them because they have been deprived of the facility of critical analysis. 

Fed on a diet of garish headlines of Fear & Hatred, sorry sensationalist histories of failed “celebrities” parading as news, and monumental sporting events showcasing flagwaving nationalism and consumerist world views, it cannot be a surprise that they support and vote for complete and utter idiots who claim to feed on the same things but manage to hide the toxic mix of greed and materialist ambition which seems to go with being a politician in a western economy.

Trumpsters cannot be blamed for Trumpf.
